A Play Session tracks your time on the court — like a “run” in Strava. It groups matches into a single activity, shows on your home screen, and counts toward your passport stats.
3 Ways to Start a Session
| Method | How | Source |
|---|
| Check in at a venue | Tap “I'm Here” on any venue page | Check-in |
| Start manually | Tap “Start Session” on home screen, pick a venue, then tap “Start” | Check-in |
| Play a match | Create a match at a venue — session auto-created | Auto |
- Check-in is recommended — one tap creates a session and shows other players you're at the venue.
- Auto-created sessions are transparent — you won't notice them unless you look at your session history.
- Starting a session requires a venue — it also checks you in so other players can see you're there.
What Happens During a Session
- Matches played at the same venue automatically attach to your active session.
- The session tracks venue, start time, duration, and match count.
- Other players can see the player count at a venue via check-in.
3 Ways to End a Session
| Method | How |
|---|
| Check out | Tap the green “Checked In” button on the venue page |
| End manually | Tap “End Session” on the session detail screen |
| Check in elsewhere | Checking in at a different venue auto-ends the previous session |
- There is no auto-expiry — sessions stay active until you end them.
- Check-in records expire after 3 hours, but the session itself stays active.
Where Sessions Appear
- Home screen — your recent sessions are listed on the home screen.
- Passport — session count appears in the stats grid, filtered by period.
- Session detail — tap any session to see venue, duration, and match list.
Session Reuse
If you play a match at the same venue within 3 hours of your last session there, the match attaches to the existing session instead of creating a new one. This keeps your session history clean and avoids duplicates.
